Outdoor Chuseok Party at the Byun’s on Saturday, October 23, 2021
One of the most anticipated parties of the year! Celebrate Chuseok, California-style. The traditional autumn harvest festival will be reimagined in a sprawling sun-drenched lawn, replete with festive decor, authentic cuisine, and lively games. Try your hand at giant yut nori (board game with wooden sticks) or neolttwigi (standing see-saw), then sate your appetite with Korean food favorites and a refreshing glass of makgeolli, a slightly sweet and sparkly rice wine.
The evening will include the opportunity to make your own songpyeon, the customary crescent-shaped rice cake that is a symbol of this national holiday. According to Korean lore, someone who makes beautifully shaped songpyeon will meet a good spouse or give birth to a beautiful baby.
We encourage you to wear your hanbok at what will surely be a spirited celebration of Korean culture.
All guests must be vaccinated; proof of vaccination will be required.
Date: October 23 (Sat) 6 PM.; Early Bird Ticket Price: $100; Price increase on 10/4/21 to $150 per person.
